Proper care ensures your FØRA garments maintain their performance and longevity

General Care Guidelines

Washing

Machine wash cold (30°C max) with similar colors. Use a gentle cycle and avoid fabric softeners which can reduce moisture-wicking properties.

Drying

Air dry whenever possible. If using a dryer, use low heat settings. High heat can damage technical fabrics and reduce their performance.

Ironing

Iron on low heat if necessary. Avoid ironing directly on prints or reflective elements. Use a pressing cloth for protection.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Hang or fold neatly to prevent creasing and maintain shape.

Fabric-Specific Care

Merino Wool

  • • Wash in cold water (30°C max) on a wool or delicate cycle
  • • Use wool-specific detergent when possible
  • • Never wring or twist - gently squeeze out excess water
  • • Lay flat to dry away from direct heat or sunlight
  • • Store folded to prevent stretching

Technical Synthetics

  • • Machine wash cold with like colors
  • • Avoid fabric softeners and bleach
  • • Turn inside out before washing to protect outer surface
  • • Air dry or tumble dry on low heat
  • • Do not dry clean

Water-Resistant Fabrics

  • • Wash separately or with similar technical garments
  • • Use technical wash products designed for DWR treatments
  • • Tumble dry on low heat to reactivate water repellency
  • • Reapply DWR treatment periodically as needed
  • • Avoid ironing directly on treated surfaces

Stain Removal

Common Stains

Sweat/Salt: Rinse with cold water immediately, then wash as normal

Oil/Grease: Apply dish soap directly to stain, let sit for 10 minutes, then wash

Mud: Let dry completely, brush off excess, then wash in cold water

General Tips

• Treat stains as soon as possible

• Always test cleaning products on a hidden area first

• Avoid hot water on protein-based stains (sweat, blood)

• Never use bleach on technical fabrics
